The MoodTicker™ Monthly Linkup Contest is a skill-based competition rewarding users for connecting with friends and engaging on the MoodTicker™ platform. Winners are determined by objective, measurable user activity—no element of chance or random selection affects contest outcomes.
Contest of Skill: This contest is a game of skill and strategy. Participants must actively engage with their friends by coordinating the sending of Zerkits and forming Linkups to maximize their combined points. Success depends on participants' strategic decisions and efforts rather than luck or chance.
Core Principle - Monthly Reset for Fair Competition: All LinkUps and Zerkits reset to zero on the first day of each month, ensuring every participant begins each contest period on equal footing. This monthly reset creates a level playing field where all users—whether new or veteran—compete based solely on their activity during that specific contest period.
Joining Mid-Month: Users who join MoodTicker™ after the first of the month may have less time to accumulate points than users who participated from the start of that contest period. However, all accumulated points reset on the first day of the following month, at which point all users restart with zero points and have an equal opportunity to compete in the new contest period.
Each calendar month ("Contest Period"), the top performers with the highest combined total of LinkUps and Zerkits will be reviewed for approval. Approved winners (typically 10 places) earn exclusive in-app rewards and recognition:

To participate in the Monthly Linkup Contest, you must:
Participation is Voluntary: No purchase necessary beyond standard subscription. Contest participation is an optional feature available to all Premium subscribers.
Void Where Prohibited: This contest is void where prohibited or restricted by law. It is your responsibility to ensure participation is legal in your jurisdiction.
LinkUps: A LinkUp is formed when you and another MoodTicker™ user send each other Zerkits within the same day. LinkUps demonstrate mutual social engagement between users.
Zerkits: Zerkits are digital tokens sent between users to show support and encouragement. Zerkits contribute to your contest score.
Scoring Methodology: Contest rankings are based on the combined total of LinkUps and Zerkits. See Terms & Conditions for complete earning details and scoring calculations.
Monthly Reset: All LinkUps and Zerkits reset to zero at 12:00 AM CT on the first day of each month. Your prior month's totals do not carry over.
Transparent Earning Methods: All earning methods, values, and calculations are documented in the MoodTicker™ Terms & Conditions, available at moodticker.net. There are no hidden scoring mechanisms or random elements.
Ranking Methodology: Contest rankings are based solely on the combined total of LinkUps and Zerkits accumulated during the contest period. MoodTicker™ uses a weighted formula where LinkUps contribute more significantly to the final score than Zerkits.
Real-Time Leaderboard: Contest standings are displayed in real-time on the platform. However, final rankings may be adjusted after contest close to account for disqualifications or disputes.
Winner Selection Process:
Tie-Breaking: In the event of a tie, the user with the higher number of LinkUps will be ranked higher. If still tied, the user who achieved their total first (by timestamp) will be ranked higher.
The following activities are strictly prohibited and will result in immediate disqualification, account suspension, or permanent ban:
Zero Tolerance for Fraud: MoodTicker™ employs advanced fraud detection systems to identify suspicious patterns. Accounts flagged for potential manipulation will be investigated, and confirmed violators will be permanently banned from the platform without refund.
Immediate Disqualification: MoodTicker™ reserves the right to disqualify any participant at any time, without notice, for any violation of these rules or for conduct deemed harmful to the contest's integrity.
Evidence Collection: MoodTicker™ may collect and retain evidence of rule violations, including but not limited to account activity logs, IP addresses, device identifiers, and communication records, for enforcement purposes and potential legal action.

ALL CONTEST PRIZES ARE DIGITAL IN-APP FEATURES EXCLUSIVELY WITH ABSOLUTE ZERO (0) MONETARY VALUE. These prizes CANNOT and WILL NOT be redeemed, exchanged, converted, sold, transferred, or traded for cash, cryptocurrency, gift cards, goods, services, or anything of monetary value whatsoever. Prizes exist solely within the MoodTicker™ platform as digital features and provide NO financial benefit, NO economic advantage, NO resale value, NO cash equivalent, and NO market value of any kind.

No Tax Liability: Because all contest prizes have absolute zero monetary value and cannot be converted to cash or economic benefit, winners generally incur no tax liability. However, tax laws vary by jurisdiction and change over time. You are solely responsible for understanding and complying with your local tax obligations. MoodTicker™ provides no tax advice and makes no representations regarding tax treatment of prizes.
No Warranty or Guarantee: MoodTicker™ makes no warranty or guarantee regarding the functionality, availability, quality, or duration of any prize. Prize features may change, malfunction, or be discontinued at any time.
Notification Timeline: Winners will be notified via email and in-app notification within 14 days of the contest period ending. If you do not receive notification but believe you should have won, contact support@moodticker.net within 7 days of the scheduled notification date.
Response Requirement: Winners must respond to the notification email within 7 days to confirm acceptance of the reward. Failure to respond may result in forfeiture of the reward.
Verification Process: Winners may be required to provide proof of identity, residency, and age. Winners must also confirm compliance with all contest rules. Failure to provide requested verification may result in disqualification.
Reward Distribution: Upon successful verification, rewards will be applied to winners' accounts within 30 days. Premium subscription extensions will be applied automatically. Digital badges and Winner's Circle access will be activated upon reward distribution.
No Alternate Rewards: There are no cash or alternate prize options. If a winner declines or forfeits their reward, MoodTicker™ may award it to the next eligible participant or retain it at its sole discretion.
Automatic Reset: All LinkUps and Zerkits automatically reset to zero at 12:00 AM Central Time on the first day of each month. This reset applies to all users simultaneously, regardless of when they joined the platform.
No Carryover: Points earned in previous months do not carry over to subsequent contest periods. Each month is a completely fresh competition.
Equal Starting Point: The monthly reset ensures that all users—new and veteran alike—begin each contest period with zero points, creating a fair and equal opportunity for everyone to compete.
Mid-Month Joiners: Users who create their MoodTicker™ account or purchase a Premium subscription after the first of the month will have fewer days to accumulate points than users who started on the first. However, this disadvantage is temporary and eliminates at the next monthly reset, when all users return to zero points.
Strategic Timing: While joining at the start of a month provides the maximum time to compete, the monthly reset system ensures that no user has a permanent advantage. Every month offers a new opportunity to compete on equal terms.
Automated Monitoring: MoodTicker™ employs sophisticated algorithms and machine learning systems to monitor contest activity in real-time and detect anomalies, suspicious patterns, or potential fraud.

Investigation Process: Accounts flagged for suspicious activity may be temporarily suspended pending investigation. Users will be notified if their account is under review. MoodTicker™ will review account activity logs, communication patterns, device information, and other relevant data.
Penalties for Violations:
Appeals: Users may appeal disqualification decisions by emailing support@moodticker.net within 7 days of notification. Appeals will be reviewed, but all decisions by MoodTicker™ are final and binding.
Zero Liability for Technical Errors: MoodTicker™ makes no guarantee that the platform or contest will function without errors, glitches, bugs, downtime, or other technical issues.
No Entitlement to Compensation: In the event of any technical error, platform malfunction, scoring discrepancy, or data loss, participants have NO entitlement to refunds, credits, compensation, make-good prizes, or any other remedy.
Error Correction: MoodTicker™ reserves the right to correct any errors in contest scoring, rankings, or reward distribution at any time. Corrections may result in changes to leaderboard positions, disqualification of participants, or reallocation of rewards.
Points Not Guaranteed: MoodTicker™ does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or preservation of any contest-related data, including but not limited to point totals, LinkUp counts, Zerkit counts, or ranking positions. Technical issues may cause temporary or permanent loss of data.
Downtime: Platform downtime, server outages, maintenance periods, or other service interruptions do not extend contest deadlines or entitle participants to any compensation or advantage.
Winner Announcements: Winners' usernames (not real names) may be announced on the platform, website, social media, or other promotional materials. By participating, you consent to such announcements.
Optional Publicity: Winners may be invited to participate in optional promotional activities such as testimonials, interviews, or social media features. Participation in such activities is voluntary and not required to receive contest rewards.
No Additional Compensation: Winners receive no compensation for any publicity, promotional use of their username, profile information, or contest participation beyond the contest rewards themselves.
Right to Modify: MoodTicker™ reserves the right to modify, amend, or update these Contest Rules at any time, for any reason, with or without notice. Changes may include but are not limited to:
Effective Date of Changes: Rule changes take effect immediately upon posting to moodticker.net unless otherwise specified. Continued participation after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the modified rules.
No Notice Requirement: MoodTicker™ is not required to provide advance notice of rule changes, though it will make reasonable efforts to do so when feasible.
Retroactive Application: Rule changes may be applied retroactively to ongoing contest periods if necessary to maintain contest integrity or address unforeseen issues.
Participant Responsibility: MoodTicker™ is not responsible for disputes between participants, including but not limited to disputes over LinkUps, Zerkits, contest strategies, or any other aspect of contest participation.
No Mediation: MoodTicker™ does not mediate disputes between users. If you have a dispute with another participant, you must resolve it independently.
Harassment and Abuse: Harassment, threats, abusive language, or other harmful conduct toward other participants is strictly prohibited and may result in immediate disqualification and account termination.
Reporting: If you experience harassment or abuse from another participant, report it to support@moodticker.net. MoodTicker™ will investigate and take appropriate action, which may include warning, suspension, or banning the offending user.
Ownership: All contest-related materials, including but not limited to the contest name, logo, scoring systems, algorithms, platform features, digital badges, and promotional materials, are the exclusive intellectual property of MoodTicker™ and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
Limited License: By participating in the contest, you are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use contest-related features solely for personal, non-commercial participation in the contest. This license terminates upon contest completion or disqualification.
No Derivative Works: You may not create, distribute, or commercialize any derivative works, modifications, or reproductions of contest-related materials without express written permission from MoodTicker™.
Legal Compliance: You are solely responsible for ensuring that your participation in the contest complies with all applicable laws, regulations, and rules in your jurisdiction.
International Participants: If you participate from outside the United States, you are responsible for complying with your local laws regarding online contests, data privacy, and cross-border data transfer.
Age Restrictions: Participants under 18 may require parental or guardian consent to participate, depending on their jurisdiction. MoodTicker™ is not responsible for verifying parental consent.
AS-IS Participation: The contest is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement.
No Guarantee of Availability: MoodTicker™ does not guarantee that the contest will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from technical issues. The platform may experience downtime, bugs, glitches, or other disruptions at any time.
Limitation of Liability: TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MOODTICKER™, ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, AND LICENSORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR GOODWILL ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO:
Maximum Liability: In no event shall MoodTicker™'s total aggregate liability arising out of or related to the contest exceed the amount you paid for your MoodTicker™ subscription in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim. Because all contest prizes have zero monetary value, there is no basis for monetary damages related to prize awards.
Force Majeure: MoodTicker™ is not responsible for any failure to perform its obligations under these Contest Rules due to causes beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, war, terrorism, riots, embargoes, acts of civil or military authorities, fire, floods, accidents, pandemics, strikes, or shortages of transportation facilities, fuel, energy, labor, or materials.
By participating in the contest, you agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless MoodTicker™, its parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, directors, employees, agents, licensors, and service providers from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, expenses, or fees (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from:
This indemnification obligation will survive termination of your participation in the contest and your use of the MoodTicker™ platform.
MoodTicker™ may modify, suspend, or terminate this contest at any time for any reason, with or without notice. Reasons may include but are not limited to:
No Refunds: Subscription fees are for platform access and are NOT refundable in the event of contest modification, suspension, or termination. The contest is a supplementary feature of the platform, not a guaranteed service.
Notice: Where feasible, MoodTicker™ will provide notice of significant rule changes or termination on moodticker.net. However, immediate changes may be implemented without advance notice when necessary to protect the integrity of the contest or platform.
General Release: By participating in the contest, you hereby release, discharge, and hold harmless MoodTicker™, its parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, directors, employees, agents, licensors, partners, sponsors, and service providers (collectively, the "Released Parties") from any and all claims, demands, causes of action, damages, losses, costs, expenses, or liabilities of any kind (including attorneys' fees) arising out of or relating to:
Waiver of Rights: You expressly waive any and all rights you may have (whether known or unknown, suspected or unsuspected, disclosed or undisclosed) to bring any claim against the Released Parties relating to the contest. This waiver applies to claims under any legal theory, including but not limited to breach of contract, negligence, fraud, misrepresentation, or violation of consumer protection laws.
No Entitlement to Compensation: You acknowledge and agree that you have NO entitlement to any refunds, credits, compensation, damages, or any other remedy arising from:
Subscription Fees Non-Refundable: You expressly acknowledge that your MoodTicker™ subscription fee is paid for platform access only, not for contest participation or the guarantee of any specific contest features, functionality, or outcomes. Subscription fees are NON-REFUNDABLE under any circumstances related to the contest, including but not limited to errors, changes, suspensions, or termination.
Contest-related data is processed according to the MoodTicker™ Privacy Policy and GDPR Compliance Policy.
Data is used solely for contest administration, ranking, and reward distribution, and will not be shared with third parties except as necessary to comply with law.
This Contest is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Tennessee, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Any disputes, claims, or controversies arising out of or relating to this Contest, including its interpretation, performance, or breach, shall be resolved exclusively through binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules. The arbitration will take place in Nashville, Tennessee.
By participating, entrants waive any right to a jury trial or to participate in a class action or representative proceeding. MoodTicker™ may seek injunctive relief in a court of competent jurisdiction in Nashville, Tennessee for any fraud or intellectual property violations.
Not Applicable: This contest awards in-app features and recognition with no monetary value. No state registration, bonding, or sweepstakes licensing is required as all rewards are digital achievements within the MoodTicker™ platform.
If any provision of these Contest Rules is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, such provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable, or if such modification is not possible, such provision shall be severed from these Contest Rules. The invalidity, illegality, or unenforceability of any provision shall not affect the validity, legality, or enforceability of the remaining provisions, which shall remain in full force and effect.
These Contest Rules, together with the MoodTicker™ Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and MoodTicker™ regarding the contest and supersede all prior or contemporaneous understandings, agreements, representations, or warranties, whether written or oral, regarding the subject matter hereof.
No Oral Modifications: These Contest Rules may not be modified orally. Any modifications must be made in writing and posted on moodticker.net.
